Tony Gosling is a shift fitter on the blast furnaces at the British Steel site in Scunthorpe. He started as a 16-year-old and now has 36 years in the industry. He’s also a trade union representative for Community Union, which role he’s held for over 27 years. He’s a fourth-generation steelworker, following his father, his father, and his father before him.
