Niki is convinced that by connecting the right people and thinking at a systems-level, anything is possible. She has spent her career trying to do just that.
She was President of CIWEM 2020-21 and her Presidential theme of ‘Everything is Connected’; shone a light on the opportunities that thinking across silos can bring for the environment and communities.
As host of Planet Possible, the CIWEM podcast, Niki looks to share compelling stories and evidence-led debate about topics that are critical to the way we manage our water and environment.
With a career spanning both water and waste water disciplines as a client and consultant, Niki has held roles roles managing operational teams and delivering strategic change supporting a broad range of organisations across the water and environment sector. She is the co-founder and Director of Blue & Green Consulting, currently working in the UK water sector to developing approaches to implementing catchment scale nature-based solutions to support significant investment in storm overflow spill reductions.
Niki has a particular interest in the transition to a low carbon and is the Co-Chair of the Public Affairs Group for the Yorkshire and Humber Climate Commission. She regularly Chairs the UKWIR Innovation Conference and has been a judge on multiple occasions for the Ofwat Innovation Competition.
Beyond work Niki is interested in a low water use economy and is currently practising what she preaches by having built a new home in Yorkshire based on those principles; exploring what’s possible within the current planning frameworks and with available materials.
