Helen Todd

Helen Todd is Community Engagement Lead and a Director at SY Ecofit, a social enterprise promoting decarbonisation and community wealth building through retrofit and community energy projects in South Yorkshire. Her engagement work with people and communities in South Yorkshire has highlighted the need for warmer, lower carbon homes for all, and also the barriers- with finance being a major one!

Helen’s background is in charities in the UK and internationally, including as Executive Director for an arts and social change organisation in Malawi, working with refugee communities in the UK, and with indigenous people in the Peruvian Amazon. After observing the disproportionate effects of climate change on vulnerable communities—who contribute least to the problem—Helen felt motivated to work toward reducing carbon emissions in the UK.
